STUDENTS AT BE
Cardiff is home to approximately 80,000 students spread across 4 universities. Students are at the very heart of Be. They are statistically the missing generation in the church. In the UK, less than 1% of students go to church, and 75% of students who begin university with a church background don’t find a church at university, leaving their faith behind in the process. The guardian reported that 1/3 of students say they feel lonely all the time. 9/10 students suffer with anxiety, 1 in 5 admitted to a current mental health diagnosis, this was mostly depression. 3⁄4 of them said they would never tell their friends. 50% of students suffering with mental health issues said they would turn to drugs or alcohol for help. This generation needs Jesus.
Our vision is to reach both unchurched and de-churched students and give them a place to belong, believe and become who they were created to be.
Students are the best people to reach students. We believe that the Christian students in Cardiff are here for such a time as this. Jesus’ ministry was 3 years, the average university course is 3 years. Imagine the impact you can have in your time at university if you give it to Jesus.
Our heart is to equip, empower and encourage our students to live out their faith in their everyday lives and create an environment that will nurture a culture of invitation. Be Church is a place for all to find belonging before belief and we want our students to be confident in that.

SUNDAYS
We are launching our brand new 6pm service on the 29th September at the Bike Lock Cafe! Every Sunday at 6pm we’ll be gathering for a time of worship and a talk and then we’ll all head to the pub afterwards! The six is the home of Be Students and we’d love you to join us!
